Our Organization

I-LYA Juniors

Mission:

To be responsible for the administration and development of youth sailing and related activities within I-LYA.

The Yacht and Sailing Clubs that make up the I-LYA Juniors sail in US SAILING Area E and are from as far south as the Columbus, OH area - as far north as the Detroit area and cover from Erie, PA to the east and Indianapolis to the west.

Beginning in 1999 as the brainchild of Joanna Tunnicliff and Jay Hawkins, now 400 kids participate each year in I-LYA Jr. racing, from beginners to "rock stars". Take a look at Clubs/Contacts if you'd like more info on clubs in your area. Give it a try. We think you'll enjoy it as much as we do!

Many of our kids continue to sail at the college level and almost all keep sailing throughout their lives.
